NGOs Demand Kabu’s New Video Not Be Broadcast
 The Human Rights Center has requested that the broadcasting of musical artist Kabu’s newest video be suspended. The HRIDC considers several phrases in the song, including “We will defeat the Abkhaz people” and “We will defeat the Russians,” as an attempt to encourage war and contradicts the Georgian Constitution.
The Human Rights Center has appealed to the Broadcasting Regulation Department of the National Commission for Georgian Communications and requested the clip’s suspension from TV play.
The clip of Kabu (Kakha Abuashvili) has been available on Georgian electronic media sources for a month already.
“There are several statements in the video clip which contradict Georgian legislation,” representatives for the Human Rights Center. “More precisely, the context of the clip contradicts the Article 56 –e, (1), (2) of the Law on Broadcasting, which states that all kinds of propaganda encouraging war are prohibited, as well as programs encouraging racial, ethnic, religious or other kinds of conflict, discrimination of a certain group or encouraging violence and causing danger.”
